FAQ

  • How do I start? What should I expect?
If you are interested in starting treatment, please reach out to me by phone or email. We will start with a short phone conversation briefly discussing why you are seeking treatment and what your goals of treatment are. If it is decided that what I offer is a good match for what you need, we will then schedule an in-person or virtual initial evaluation. The initial evaluation is generally 45 to 60 minutes long and will review your complete psychiatric history. From there, we can start to plan your medication strategy and appointment frequency to best address your issues. Follow-up appointments are usually 15 to 30 minutes long, can be in-person or virtual (on the phone or over video), and will cover symptom progress, medication effects, potential safety issues, and planning your next steps.
  • Do you accept my insurance?
I am an out-of-network provider, meaning that I do not accept insurance plans. However, I will readily provide you with an invoice that can be submitted to your insurance company so that they can reimburse you at least in part. Please contact your insurance company to learn about your out-of-network benefits.
  • How much do sessions cost?
Please reach out to me to discuss my fees. In accordance with the “No Surprises Act” that went into effect January 1, 2022, you have the right to request a “Good Faith Estimate” of the expected cost of my services. Payment is expected at the time that services are rendered.
  • Do you offer Telepsychiatry appointments?
Patients must have their initial session in-person in my office. Many patients choose to continue with in-person appointments for follow-up as well. However, I also offer televideo and telephonic appointments for those with busy schedules. Logistics should not get in the way of your mental healthcare.
